SYDNEY, N.S. - The Halifax Hurricanes got a much-needed win over their provincial rivals on Friday thanks to strong play from their reserves.

The Hurricanes beat the Cape Breton Highlanders 114-108 in overtime at Centre 200 in Sydney after trailing for the first-half of the game by as many as 15. The Hurricanes had lost their last two games against the Highlanders in Halifax last month.

Tyrone Watson came up big off the bench for Halifax, leading his team with 24 points on 12 for 20 shooting, while pulling down five rebounds.

Fellow bench player Mike Poole also helped lift the Hurricanes with 22 points of his own.

Harkless shoots photography at Timbers Soccer Match

PORTLAND, Ore. – While the Portland Timbers were busy defeating D.C. United 4-0 to earn a spot in the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs Sunday evening at Providence Park, there was a special photographer working the sidelines.

Normally prowling the hard court across the river at the Moda Center, Portland Trail Blazers forward Moe Harkless attended the Timbers match as a photographer further practicing his craft.

“I just came to the game to take some photos and have some fun,” he said while editing photos at halftime. “It’s been great so far just to learn more about photography and basically what goes into it.”  PORTLAND, Ore. – While the Portland Timbers were busy defeating D.C.
